Application

Turbodispin® D 83 is an outstanding dispersant for organic impurities in cooling water systems of steel mills, power plants, refineries, petrochemical industries, etc.

Turbodispin® D 83 increases the effect of biocides especially of Chlorine. Organic impurities on rubble filters will be dissolved and filter running times will be increased.

Turbodispin® D 83 is non-toxic and does not influence the biology of the receiving stream if recommended dosing quantities are used.

 

Effect Turbodispin® D 83 is stable against hydrolysis and against Chlorine. By its surface active properties slime, algae and impurities from the process side will be suspended. Thus biocides like active Chlorine can attack slime and biological growth more easily.

A slight foam formation due to the tenside effect of Turbodispin® D 83 at water temperatures below 25°C is normal. When using biocides, especially Chlorine, the ability of penetration will be increased by Turbodispin® D 83 and the period of the biocide treatment will be shortened. The amount of biocides can be reduced by applying Turbodispin® D 83 and a more economic operation can be obtained. The heat transfer rate of condensers and heat Exchangers will be improved by keeping the exchange areas free of deposits.

Dosage

Turbodispin® D 83 is applied in diluted or concentrated form as shock treatment or in proportion to the quantity of the make up water. The dosing rate should take place at a point of high turbulences in order to secure a good dissolution of Turbodispin® D 83.

Handling

The stocking of diluted dosing solution at increased ambient temperatures effect a reversible turbidity, without injuring the quality of the product.

Process control

Process control includes monitoring the technological effect of the water conditioning as well as an analytical control of the cooling water quality.
